Merry Christmas and best wishes for a happy New Year to all!
These are the latest website updates for each side of the family:
Messina Family
Documents added to Maria Messina/Troutman’s documents profile:
- Letters from Maria (as a child) to her parents
- Cards to Maria from her parents
- Documents Maria kept centered around her life in Panama, such as bowling tournament schedules for her team, Los Bucaneros (the Buccaneers) and party invitations
- A guest list and menu for a party in honor of the Italian ambassador held at the Messinas’ house
- Documents from Maria’s year at the Academie Moderne (1970-71). One interesting item is a schedule of a press week in New York (in January 1971) which includes her diary-like account of the experience — it’s the earliest such written record we have. On the trip, she and her classmates visited Mademoiselle magazine, a then well-known ad agency (J. Walter Thompson), attended a David Frost Show taping, and saw other sights.
Group photos:
- A photo of some kind of exhibition; notes are on the back, but I don’t know who the person featured was — if Elena or Paul M. knows, please enlighten me. 🙂
Troutman Family
- Troutman History page: a photo of the family crest and family tree diagrams, including one possibly by Paul Scott Troutman with info from Bill Moran and James Moran Troutman.
- A list of notable family members such as Polly Moran and Ora D. Wilhite
- Troutman family group gallery (outside of photos on individuals’ pages)
I hope you’ll check them out. I appreciate your patience, as much of the site remains under construction.

And pardon the uneven indentation — apparently, it’s a bug connected to the website theme (or this blog plug-in).
Thanks, and love to all,
